Our Leadership

Sr. Pastor

Dr. Jeff Gaskill

When Jeff is not studying God’s Word, preaching, teaching, reading or writing, you will probably find him spending time with Becky and their family, walking, watching movies, leisurely hanging out – just enjoying being together. Frequently you will find Jeff on the sidelines of a football game or wrestling event cheering on coaches and athletes as both sports have been an enjoyable part of he and his family’s life. Most of all, Jeff enjoys seeing people come to faith in Christ and their lives transformed and change to walk in His image.

Elder

Tom Egan

Tom Egan has been a part of Grace Bible Church since moving to Berne from Wisconsin in 2017 and has served as an elder since 2020.  Tom has a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science as well as a Masters of Biblical Studies degree and currently works as a project engineer for an online medical software company. He has been married to his wife, Chris, since 1982, and they have 4 grown children and 9 grandchildren.  One activity that Tom is passionate about is discipling other men.  In his free time, Tom enjoys backpacking, taking walks, golfing, and spending time with his family.  Tom also likes watching college sports, especially basketball, and cheering on sports teams from the Chicago area, where he was born and raised.  An interesting fact about Tom is that he ran the Chicago marathon in 1984 and though he himself didn’t finish at the front of the pack, he looked enough like the second-place winner that his grandmother thought it was him.

Elder

Art Habegger

Art Habegger has deep roots in Adams County. He was born into a small German community and spoke only German until the age of 5. Art graduated from Berne-French High School and later went on to receive a B.S. degree from Taylor University and a Masters degree from Indiana University. Art and Marian, his wife of over 60 years, have 2 daughters, 5 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.  Now retired from full-time employment after spending 39 years as a teacher, coach, and athletic director at Adams Central, Art currently works part-time at a local funeral home.  He has faithfully served as an elder, Sunday school teacher, and occasional pulpit supply, and Art and Marion love to serve together whenever possible.  Playing golf is important to Art. He has been playing for 70 years, has organized many golf leagues and outings, and has even had 4 holes-in-one!  He also enjoys watching Adams Central wrestling and IU athletic events and has a great passion for helping people, young and old.
